Description
The typical adolescent urge for less dependence on parents and guardians makes it especially important for gifted students to take charge of their own education. Too often, however, their naive attempts at self-advocacy fail to bring about the desired change and instead gets them into trouble. Session participants learn to create a series of interactive seminars for gifted teens that will help them discover their own strengths and learn to communicate their needs effectively. Included in the session is a follow-up to the action research on self-advocacy originally published 8 years ago in the Roeper Review.
