Goldilocks Parenting: Effects of Too Much, Not Enough, and Just the Right Amount of InvolvementTM
Track : Parent/Community Support
Program Code: 080
SPEAKER :
Nancy Cohen, Project 2EXceL Manager, University of St. Thomas
Description
Sometimes parents feel like Goldilocks, trying to decide how much involvement is "just right" for their child's well-being. In this session, we discuss both the positive and negative short-term and long-term psychological effects of over-parenting, under-parenting, and parenting "just the right amount"-- if there is such a thing. Session is interactive, allowing time for attendees to discuss issues of concern with presenter and each other during the presentation.
