Description
Collaborative problem solving (CPS) conceptualizes challenging behaviors as the result of lagging cognitive skills and sets forth an approach to intervention emphasizing the collaborative (rather than unilateral) resolution of problems precipitating challenging behaviors. CPS challenges fundamental aspects of traditional functional behavioral assessments, positive behavioral support plans, and school discipline practices.
