Sandy Momper, a Bad River Band Chippewa Indian, has conducted gambling studies with American Indians. Her research on Maternal Gambling, Parenting in the Home Environment, and Child Outcomes in Native American Families was funded by NIMH. While a NIDA funded post doc at the U of M Substance Abuse Research Center she conducted a study on the Potential Association of Tobacco use and Gambling among Native American Populations funded by the U of M Tobacco Research Network. She is presently an Investigator on a study of ecological stressors, PTSD, and drug abuse in Detroit funded by NIDA and NIMH.
