Tim Christensen is currently the Treatment Administrator for the Arizona Office of Problem Gambling. He is the current President of the Association of Problem Gambling Service Administrators, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the National Council on Problem Gambling. Tim has provided consultation to numerous state governments on the development and implementation of publicly funded problem gambling programs. Tim earned his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Nebraska – Omaha in which his primary focus of research dealt with problem gambling programs and public policy.

Description
The workshop will discuss the coordinated efforts of two states, Arizona and Connecticut in implementing comparable treatment program outcome evaluations that are the first efforts in the US at developing an interstate process for benchmarking clinical outcomes of state funded treatment programs. This workshop will present analyses of treatment outcome data based on the first year of monitoring for both programs. Implications for practice improvement will be discussed. Additionally, practical issues involved in implementation will be addressed, including strategies for cost effective data management, improving provider compliance, utilization of data for providing clinician and client feedback.
