Todd Denny M.S.W., is the creator and director of the ground-breaking Music Mentors Academies (MMA) program that attracts students to the work of addiction prevention. In 2009, his Washington State Music Mentors were selected top state prevention team and won the national award for excellence from the National Council on Problem Gambling for their music video and curriculum “Game Over.” In 2009 he designed and facilitated the first ever week-long tribal youth music academy with 52 youth from 9 WA State Tribes. His 2009 keynote presentations include the Western Regional Problem Gambling Conference and the Four Directions: Tribal Gambling Conference.

Jose Gutierrez M.B.A., is a Billboard producer, radio DJ, performing and recording artist. He served as the director for the Gateways Program for Incarcerated Youth at The Evergreen State College. An ongoing concern throughout Gutierrez's career has been to foster appreciation of Hip Hop music and culture. He earned his MBA from Washington State University. "This experiential workshop will teach participants how to attract students to the work of problem gambling and addiction prevention by applying music to peer education. Participants will understand how to apply to apply this model within diverse communities including Indian tribes to increase cultural awareness and bolster addiction prevention. Members of the Washington State Music Mentors including tribal youth will assist attendees in developing, writing and performing poetry and songs dedicated to prevention education.
Our ongoing partnerships with Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna, Washington Governor Chris Gregoire, Washington Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery Director David Dickinson, The Swinomish, Yakama, Squaxin and Nooksack Indian Tribes and the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling in supporting Washington State youth will be discussed"
