Time: 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM  EST

Description
Fluency is a key element in any successful reading program. It is also essential for comprehension to occur. Yet, despite its importance, many students fail to achieve sufficient fluency and many teachers do not feel competent teaching it. As a result, comprehension suffers. In this session, Tim will define fluency, explore its relationship with comprehension, demonstrate strategies for teaching fluency, and share methods for assessing and monitoring reading progress.
