Presentation Evaluation Criteria

The charge of the Education Advisory Council (EAC) is to analyze, design and develop the educational content for the BICSI Winter Conference and Exhibition. Such content must be relevant, best practices that cover the existing and emerging topics in the design, installation and maintenance of ITS that support voice, data, Internet, security, control and other building management systems.

The EAC conducts a blind review of all completed submissions, evaluating each on the merits of the presentation information. The EAC is not aware of the identity of the submitter or other presenter(s) until after completion of the blind review process.

Evaluation Guidelines:

  • Engaging and appropriate presentation title.
  • Topic and content are relevant to industry needs and interests.
  • Description is clear and an accurate reflection of proposed content.
  • Attendee outcomes are measurable and achievable.
  • Presenter(s) will provide new information, knowledge or skill, or a unique application of known information or skills.
  • Format is appropriate for the subject matter.
  • Program design is inclusive of the needs of the BICSI conference attendees.
  • Presenter(s) appear knowledgeable and qualified to lead this presentation.

Qualified presenters are expected to:

    • Report on the latest industry trends.
    • Inform peers about cutting-edge technology and skills.
    • Discuss challenges and achievements in the industry.
    • Contribute to the industry’s overall body of knowledge.
