DESCRIPTION
This session will discuss the emerging knowledge regarding the importance of the extrinsic pathway of coagulation that is surface assembly-mediated at the platelet and vascular endophelial cell interface. Recombinant factor VIIa is currently approved for treatment of patients with hemophilia who have inhibitors. In addition, there are potential applications for use of recombinant factor VIIa in a variety of medical and surgical settings. These will be reviewed and discussed during the presentations.
