DESCRIPTION
Accomplishing departmental and organizational goals begins with effectively setting performance expectations for each employee. Successful performance expectations include both descriptions of what the organization needs the employee to accomplish, and descriptions of how the employee should conduct him/herself while on the job. Clearly communicating specific expectations not only helps align employees with goals, but also increases employee engagement and motivation. The best supervisors will discuss how the "what's" and "how's" will be measured, and describe how the employee can meet each expectation. The objective of this program will be to share the process used by one hospital to set and communicate expectations.
