DESCRIPTION
Both within laboratories and at bedsides, cellular therapy has become a promising approach to treating diseases outside of hematologic malignancies. Beyond cell line dysfunctions, cellular therapy is being used to repair tissue, modify immunologic responses and restore cellular metabolic function. This session will provide insight into these emerging therapies utilizing umbilical cord blood. Specifically, this session will address rationales and applications for diabetes mellitus and cerebral palsy.
