Specific focus will be directed toward the recent trend toward consolidation and vertical integration within the plasma industry in the context of changing regulatory requirements. Second, the various clinical uses of pharmaceutical products derived from source and recovered plasma will be described. And third, the role of monetary incentives for recruiting blood donors in a challenging economy will be addressed in conjunction with strategies to contend with increased competition for donors.
