DESCRIPTION
Loss of viability and function associated with certain biochemical changes, or storage lesion, is observed in vitro when blood components are stored. Storage lesion in both platelet and red cell components have implications for the patient to whom these components are transfused. In this audioconference, recent strides in discovering the effect of storage lesion on specific recipient groups will be discussed.
