DESCRIPTION
The speakers will begin the session by defining the process for creating a Records Manager position and describing the hiring process. Next, the speakers will review the development of a corporate records management project including the creation of a team of Records Coordinators, which consists of members from all major functional departments within the organization. The team's responsibilities, including defining and developing the policies and procedures that provide the foundation for the process, will be reviewed. The creation of a record retention schedule that calls out the authority that defines each record's retention period will be outlined. The speakers will conclude with a review of a Records Management program in an organization that has 20 remote blood collection centers and the effect it has on the control of static records.
