DESCRIPTION
This session will focus on the financial dilemma facing the member nations of the European Union as they try to reconcile the need for increasing safety of transfusions and limited resources. The goal of having a "European Blood Supply" is complicated by differing perceptions of safety, different cultural approaches to blood safety, and differing political systems that control them. Can regulation substitute for management in this environment?
