DESCRIPTION
This lecture and panel discussion will explore successful collection staff development strategies that have been used to enhance staff satisfaction and retention. Topics include developing and using career paths, post skill training "buddy systems" and sponsor programs. Speakers will identify resources utilized, barriers to implementation and potential solutions. OBJECTIVES
- Describe at least two strategies for the continued development of collection staff beyond their initial skills training
- Identify internal cross functional resources to implement the development plan
- Remove barriers to implementation by using creative solutions
- List two benefits of a collection staff development plan
