Process-Based Auditing
Program Code: 127-QE Saturday, October 23, 2004
4:00 PM to 5:30 PM (ET)
SPEAKERS Dennis R. Arter, FASQ, CQA (ASQ), Columbia Audit Resources
DESCRIPTION
Process-based audits specifically assess functions and linkages of processes and how they form systems. Process-based audits are performed as part of an internal quality management program for managers desiring to go beyond compliance to regulations. A process-based approach requires internal auditors to take a closer look at the fine details of a specific process and how they affect the success of the business. Process-based auditing is a management tool for helping an organization identify opportunities for potential improvement. Process-based audits can be successfully conducted within any organization if certain requirements are met for establishing and managing an internal quality audit process. Dennis Arter, “The Audit Guy”, will review the seven steps for performing process-based auditing. He will share some necessary requirements, tools and techniques for conducting a successful process-based quality audit. This program is ideal for any individual who is currently involved in managing and/or conducting audits. It is also valuable for those unhappy with their current internal audit program and looking for ways to add value to the enterprise. A basic knowledge of quality, safety, or environment auditing is assumed. OBJECTIVES
