DESCRIPTION
This international session will provide a discussion on the applicability of US accreditation programs for blood banks outside the US, regarding their characteristics and benefits for non-US hospitals. The speakers will present the experiences of non-US hospitals with the AABB accreditation program and with other US agencies. In addition, the speakers will compare and contrast the differences between the concepts of accreditation and regulation. OBJECTIVES
- Describe the performance of the AABB accreditation program outside the US
- Discuss the experience of non-US hospitals that participate in the AABB Accreditation program and other US accreditation programs
- Explain the differences between regulations and accreditation programs
