Using brief oral presentations, the Transfusion Alliance will discuss two topics: "Does Red Blood Cell Transfusion Increase Mortality?" and "Component Therapy in the Era of New Anticoagulants and Antiplatelet Drugs." The presentations will be followed by a lively panel discussion and a question and answer period. OBJECTIVES
- Incorporate knowledge of the risks, benefits and outcomes of transfusion therapy and improve transfusion practice
- Collaborate with clinicians involved in difficult transfusion decisions
