DESCRIPTION
The speaker will define and describe common statistical methods which can be applied to the following areas: applications and objectives of SPC including the basic concepts of SPC for variables and attribute data and charts depicting data; lot acceptance sampling for audit applications including a review of the concepts and risks associated with acceptance sampling and confidence, risk, and error associated with sampling in general. OBJECTIVES
- Define and apply the terms AQL, RQL, and type I and II errors with respect to sampling for acceptance
- Discuss the "language" and applications of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Describe appropriate actions when processes are deemed out of control
- Explain the relationship of sample size to error, confidence and risk of being wrong
