DESCRIPTION
As the costs of blood products escalate, some hospitals are evaluating the feasibility of establishing hospital-based donor collection programs. This session will highlight the advantages, disadvantages and financial issues that should be considered in the decision process to collect, process and test blood donations. In addition, alternatives to hospital-based and managed collections will be explored. The session will conclude with the opportunity for participants to share their experience as well as pose questions to the faculty members for further discussion. OBJECTIVES
