DESCRIPTION
This session is designed to provide a review of fundamental mathematical calculations used in apheresis. Lectures using slides and handouts will provide the basic material, and case studies will be used as instructional examples.

OBJECTIVES

• Perform basic calculations used in donor apheresis procedures and therapeutic apheresis procedures
• Explain mathematical processes involved in hemapoietic progenitor cell collection and yield calculations
• Perform calculations needed to perform red blood cell exchange procedures
