DESCRIPTION
Blood bank supervisors and managers are not typically trained in the process of cost analysis or justification. With emphasis on cost containment and doing more with less, being able to prepare a detailed cost analysis aids the supervisor in justification of a new technology, automation or procedure. When a new test or procedure must be implemented, preparing a cost analysis can provide accurate information for budgeting and for setting fees. The speakers will provide the basic steps and terminology used in preparing a cost analysis, as well as detailed example of a cost analysis.
