The use of umbilical cord blood in allogeneic transplantation is evolving in an array ofclinical applications. The speakers will address improvements in cord blood banking and decision making in selection of cord blood units for transplantation. In addition, the speakers will discuss changes in cord blood collection, processing and storage; implications of cord blood processing and banking standards on cord blood unit selection; factors that affect cord blood transplant outcomes; and current search algorithms for cord blood unit selection for transplantation.
