Unrelated Donor Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation: The Effect of Hematopoietic Cell Source and Conditioning Regimen on Recipient Outcome Program Code: 054585 Wednesday, July 13, 2005
2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (ET)
MODERATOR Chatchada Karanes, MD, National Marrow Donor Program
SPEAKERS Sergio A. Giralt, MD, MD Anderson Cancer Center Claudio Anasetti, MD, Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute
DESCRIPTION
Advances in unrelated donor transplantation have increased treatment options available to patients. Different hematopoietic stem cell sources and reduced intensity conditioning regimens are increasingly used in unrelated donor hematopoietic cell transplantation. This program will address the effect of bone marrow vs. peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) on graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) rate and recipient outcome, the impact of cell dose-related complications on recipient outcomes and the effect of reduced-intensity conditioning regimens on recipient outcome.
