The Emily Cooley Memorial Award began as a lectureship in 1963 and was designated as a Memorial Award in 1981. The award commemorates Emily Cooley, the dedicated and beloved medical technologist whose work contributed to an increased understanding of hematology technology. The award recipient demonstrates teaching ability in technical aspects of immunohematology.
