DESCRIPTION
The audience will be provided an opportunity to learn more about the challenges and limitations faced by blood bankers in developing countries--particularly those challenges that have a direct impact on quality systems. Speakers will include experts with substantial experience assessing blood banks (as well as assisting with the implementation of appropriate corrective action plans) in multiple disadvantage countries located throughout several continents. Interwoven into all of this will be related discussions about the steps required to make blood safer and more plentiful in parts of the world where receiving a transfusion may carry a greater risk than the alternative of going without.
