The broadly-reactive sample presents special investigational challenges. Using a case study and lecture approach, the speakers in this session will address the recognition and resolution of multiple causes of broad-reactivity in a specimen. Topics to be discussed include differentiating autoantibody from alloantibody reactivity, problems caused by antibodies to reagent constituents or drugs, the characterization of new high incidence antigens and an update on Chido/Rodgers and Knops blood group systems.

AABB is proud to present the Sally Frank Memorial Award. A well-known medical technolgist and an AABB member, Frank was a clinical instructor for Louisiana State University Medical Center and an assistant technical director in the Department of Hemotherapy at Charity Hospital.
