DESCRIPTION
Three active areas of platelet transfusion research will be discussed in this session. Platelet dose affects both the post-transfusion platelet increment as well as the interval to the next transfusion. What is the best platelet dosing strategy to maintain hemostasis while decreasing the number of platelets transfused and/or the number of transfusion events? This session will answer this question, and many more related to platelets.
