DESCRIPTION
This program will look at the current indications for transfusion of platelets and red blood cells, as well as the current evidence for practice. The two speakers will examine clinical outcomes and surrogate outcomes as a means to measure the efficacy of transfusion of platelets and red cells. In addition, they will discuss the role of research as a means to use evidenced-base data to improve transfusion practice.
