DESCRIPTION
This program will provide a brief overview of the basic biology and role of HLA in unrelated hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and describe the impact of recent advances on the testing methodologies and strategies for unrelated donor and cord blood unit matching. Faculty will also describe the application of population genetics to target volunteers for donor registry recruitment and optimize donor selection for searching patients.
