The world of transfusion medicine has become global where standards are increasingly important with the cost of compliance placing pressure on organizational resources. This session will focus on the increasing cost of safety improvements, new technology and tests and their impact on pricing. The speaker will also discuss the challenges of how to communicate costs with a hospital system in crisis due to a growing number of uninsured people straining the financial resources of the hospitals.
