In this session, the evidence to support the use of platelet and red blood cell transfusion will be discussed by physicians who are responsible for establishing guidelines and transfusion triggers to patients in the USA and Europe. These physicians establish the guidelines according to the latest epidemiological evidence focusing on blood safety and good transfusion practice. Case studies will be discussed followed by a live and interactive discussion.
