DESCRIPTION
The nation's blood products supply chain is a critical pillar of our public health infrastructure. Adoption of new technology has the potential to reduce or completely eliminate errors leading to mis-transfusions which cause unnecessary patient injury. RFID use also allows improved efficiency and reduction of costs along the entire blood products supply chain. This session will review the technology, and is adoption maturity, as well as the status of key studies in blood. A panel discussion will follow.
