DESCRIPTION
Given the limited supply of blood and blood products, hospitals and blood collection centers face tough issues every day in deciding how these scarce resources are allocated. This session will address how ethical frameworks can assist decision makers in addressing these issues in routine situations as well as in disaster scenarios including pandemics and other extreme situations. A group discussion of case studies will be included in the session and audience participation will be encouraged.
