DESCRIPTION
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), at least 1 billion people, one sixth of the world's population, suffer from one or more neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), some of them due to parasites that might threaten the global safe blood supply. In this session, the speakers will provide an updated discussion about Malaria and Chagas disease in the context of transfusion medicine, and their different preventative measures. Speakers from both developing and developed countries will share their concepts and how different approaches were implemented in their regions.
