DESCRIPTION
The field of tissue banking is still in its infancy and may be overlooked by some within the clinical facility. Nurses, medical technologists, surgeons, physicians, administrators and the commercial tissue bank need a responsible person within the medical facility to answer questions and coordinate activities to ensure the safe use of tissue. While, that central person may be a tissue coordinator, often it is the blood bank medical director and staff who are called upon to interact with medical professionals concerning the tissue products. This audioconference will pose tissue related questions and challenges faced in both an adult and pediatric population.
