DESCRIPTION
On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Affordable Care Act (ACA) also known as "healthcare reform." While the ACA is aimed at improving access to quality health care for all Americans, it is intended to help reduce health disparities. The law calls for improvements in preventative care, coordinated care, initiatives to increase racial and ethnic diversity in health care professions, and expand the healthcare work force in underserved communities. The law is also intended to end insurance discrimination and make health insurance more affordable.
The ACA was not implemented all at once but changes will be through 2014 and beyond. This audioconference will look at ACA from the personal point of view and also how it affects the work place. Special attention will focus on the successes and the challenges over the past year.
