This session will offer didactic presentation and audience participation to explore the regulations and standards that affect the competency and credentialing requirements for nurses and technologists performing therapeutic apheresis procedures in mobile and/or offsite settings.

  • Discuss credentialing requirements that apply to mobile therapeutic apheresis programs, such as the Joint Commission's recommendations and standards.
  • Identify three staffing challenges facing mobile therapeutic apheresis programs.
  • List three components of competency requirements for apheresis staff.
