Description
In this session, attendees will first learn different risk management strategies as they relate to the business of blood banking, transfusion medicine and related biological therapies. Methods for identifying, quantifying and qualifying the most relevant risks will then be explained. Finally, solutions for effective ways to mitigate the identified risks will be explored, along with some cautionary examples of risk management gone wrong. The program will focus on solutions that transcend traditional insurance programs to include approaches that allow participants to capitalize on their potential.

  • Define risk management strategies for industries involved in blood banking, transfusion medicine and related biological therapies.
  • Explain how to identify and map significant risks facing these organizations.
  • Explore practical and creative ways of mitigating identified risks, as well as the legal ramifications of failing to do so.
