OBJECTIVES:
  • Evaluate the effect of removal of plasma from apheresis platelets and replacement with additive solution.
  • Explore the preparation and use of freeze dried plasma produced from single donors.
  • Assess the effect of prolonged cold storage on thawed plasma.
  • Explain the effects of protease inhibitors on the platelet storage lesion.
