OBJECTIVES:
  • Explain the role of cytokines in a murine model of the mechanism of action of IVIG.
  • Elaborate on the ways to minimize adverse responses to blood donation in teen-aged female donors.
  • Explore the impact of pathogen reduction with the psoralen technology on the function of buffy coat platelets.
  • Explain the safety risks arising from strategies for testing for malaria in donors traveling to Mexico and in donors who have been vaccinated for hepatitis B.
