OBJECTIVES:
  • Explain the role of platelet dose in pediatric transfusion outcomes from the PLADO study.
  • Elaborate on the safety issues with the Intecept pathogen inactivation system as applied to pediatric platelet transfusion.
  • Determine the role of T-activation in atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome.
  • Explain the issues surrounding the use of DEHP in pediatric transfusion products.
