Description

OBJECTIVES:
  • Discuss the role blood centers can play in analyzing donor health information and educating donors about potential cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Describe several interventions that can be made during high school drives to decrease the rate of donor reactions among 16 and 17 year old subjects.
  • Recognize the common types of Post Donation Information provided by donors and the different demographic characteristics of subjects providing this information, with a view towards improving the donor history process to avoid these events.
  • Determine the effect that different types of temporary deferrals have on the likelihood that donors will return to donate in the future.
