Description
The Circular is an important extension to the blood component label which must be available to all medical personnel involved in transfusion processes. Members of the AABB Circular of Information Task Force will provide highlights of the significant changes since the July 2002 version, including incorporation of new testing language, more prominent discussions of TRALI and TACO, a reorganized plasma component section, an expanded further manufacturing section and many other additions and clarifications.

  • Describe the intended use of the Circular of Information for the Use of Human Blood and Blood Components.
  • Recognize important changes to the labeling of blood and blood components incorporated into the August 2009 version of the Circular.
