Description
In the past few years, few new factor concentrates have been approved by the FDA or used in clinical trials. This session will critically evaluate the scientific studies regarding the use of these factor concentrates. The following areas will be covered during this session: indication, dosing, side effects, clinical trial results, and comparisons of their use to the conventional treatment options. There will be formal presentations, question and answer, and open discussion.

  • Compare the use of these new factor concentrates with the conventional treatments.
  • Describe the recent clinical trial results of these new factor concentrates.
  • Identify new factor concentrates (human fibrinogen concentrate, human protein C concentrate, four-factor human prothrombin complex concentrate, and recombinant anti-Thrombin III concentrate) and describe their clinical indications, dosing, and side effects.
