Description
Have you ever considered what it takes to get the reagents used each day into the bottle and to your blood bank/transfusion service laboratory for use? This program will follow the process of reagent preparation and testing from the donor to the blood bank workstation.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
  • Describe the process for preparing reagents used in blood bank testing, including location of appropriate donors, qualification testing, etc.
  • Discuss final release and stability testing performed on blood banking reagents.
  • Discuss the FDA regulations for minimum titer of antisera reagents.
  • Outline FDA regulations for release of red cell reagents.
