Description
In the 26th edition of the AABB BBTS Standards, a new standard 1.5 was introduced. This standard, Communication of Concerns, points to ethics and quality and their relationship. The session will discuss the link between ethics and quality and explore case studies for best practices in handling issues of an ethical nature for quality and safety. Finally, the speakers will give practical methods of delivering the message of the link between ethics and quality as well as providing the staff with tools to communicate their concerns for quality and safety.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
  • Determine how best to get the ethics and quality message to line staff.
  • Discuss how ethics and quality are linked.
  • Explore, through case studies, the best practices for handling issue that cross the lines.
  • Review regulatory standards that speak to both areas.
