Description

OBJECTIVES:
  • Identify the different cytokine response in the acute phase of HBV replication in vaccine break through infections vs. HBV infection in individuals w/o evidence of prior vaccination.
  • Describe the genetic variability of West Nile Virus in the U.S.
  • Relate the stage of West Nile Virus infection to differences in viral load levels in plasma versus whole blood samples.
  • Review the performance of an investigational Dengue virus antigen test for blood donor screening in Puerto Rico.
  • Discuss the absence of detectable H1N1 viremia in a limited investigation of US blood donor samples during the 2009-2010 pandemic period.
  • Discuss trends in donation frequency and presence of infectious disease markers in autologous donations in the U.S. since 1995.
