Description
OBJECTIVES:
- Discuss in vitro quality measures of apheresis platelets stored in two new platelet additive solutions, PAS-5 and PAS*.
- Contrast a new flow cytometric platelet enumeration reference method with the ICSH standard.
- Cite the in vivo recovery and survival of DMSO cryopreserved platelet concentrates administered using a no-wash method.
- Describe the potential significance of stress granule formation during buffycoat platelet collection and storage.
